Bodybuilding was different some 100 years ago but in this millennium bodybuilders have just upped their game and now bring to the table what freaks of nature look like. Of course there is anabolic involved but one simply cant ignore the hard work and strict regime that goes behind. The supreme competition of them all "Mr Olympia", although not being a mainstream sport has had the attention of people worldwide and hence today the topic covers the instances which changed the way bodybuilding was pursued and was a shocker to the world.

# Arnold Schwarzenegger the side chest
Born in Austria, Arnold is often considered as the pinnacle of making bodybuilding popular in the world. Seen as the poster boy of bodybuilding in the 1970’s till the 2000’s, Arnold is often referred to as the god of bodybuilding In the fraternity.
Often a gym has Arnold’s posing posters
on the walls. Arnold’s bodybuilding poses on stage are all of elite level,
however the one of him hitting the side chest is freaky in nature and has been
the background of numerous motivational quotes and sayings. Arnold is a 7 time
Mr Olympia – a record only exceeded by 2 men in the 57 years history of the
competition. Arnold has also been a successful actor and a governor of California.
#Nasser El Sonbaty
Shoulder & Traps
Sonbaty competed between 1990 – 2005. He competed in Mr Olympia nine times and got the best position of runners up in the 1997 Mr Olympia in which he lost the title to Dorian Yates. Sonbaty was popular for wearing his round glasses while training and posing. There was this picture of Sonbaty in a suit when he was going to a interview. The pure sight of Sonbaty was freakish enough - the glasses, the suit and those massive shoulder with the traps popping out.
#Flex Wheeler
The Sultan of symmetry
Kenneth "Flex" Wheeler was born and raised in California amidst poor financial conditions. Wheeler was good in sports from a young age and got into pursuing mixed marital arts and bodybuilding. Wheeler famously said he is a mixed martial artist first and then a bodybuilder. Having elite level genetics coupled with long stint of perfecting his physique
Wheeler competed in 8 Mr Olympia (latest one being in 2017), having the best place finish of 2nd at 1993, 1998 and 1999 Olympia competitions. Wheeler came onto the bodybuilding world and climbed the charts pretty quickly. He was famous for able to do a perfect split on stage. The name "Flex" was came into being thereof. Wheeler has been described as the most complete bodybuilder by Arnold Schwarzenegger and is called "the sultan of symmetry" One of his appearance on stage in a relaxed pose rightfully lays the claim on that title.
#Dorian Yates
The original mass monster
Hailing from United Kingdom, Dorian Yates’s first stint with
the gym was when he was in a correctional facility – aged 18. Dorian Yates introduced
the phenomena of mass with symmetry in bodybuilding.
He was an ardent follower
of high intensity training routine year-round and was Mr Olympia winner for six
times consecutively from 1992 to 1997. Such was the conditioning which Yates
displayed that his body was often described “granite hardness”. One image of
Dorian Yates is instilled in the people’s memories is his sudden appearance on
the stage with his freaky size and mass, for which he earned the name “The
Shadow”.
#Jay Cutler
The Quad Stomp
Jay Cutler has won four Mr Olympia title. Jay Cutler is widely regarded for his unparalleled fight and motivation for the game. Jay Cutler got placed second a whooping six times losing out to the legend Ronnie Coleman and then losing out in his third title defense to Dexter Jackson.
Cutler did not lose hope and became the only Mr Olympia to win the title back after a loss in 2009. The rivalry of Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler was entertaining and it was full of mutual respect. Jay Cutler showed his famous Quad stomp pose on the stage in 2009. The image is an elite level of physique in the world.
# Tom Platz
Tom Platz is a name synchronous with one and only thing in the bodybuilding world - Legs. Consider this - he is called the Quadfather. Tom Platz competed in 7 Mr Olympia and had a best finish of 3rd position in 1981.
Tom Platz is famous for his leg days and in his prime his videos of intense leg exercises were widespread and famous amongst the fans. Tom Platz has once described to the media that he is blessed with great genetics when it comes to legs but he has worked hard to attain his status. Currently Tom Platz is famous on social media for his videos where he trains athletes like Sergio Olivera Jr and others for their legs and the intensity he still garners.

#Roelly Winklaar Beast's Triceps
Roelly Winklaar made his debut in IFBB pro level in the year 2010 and created quiet a stir with his massive physique which earned him an impressive 7th place in his debut.
Winklaar was initially trained by Sibil “Grandma” Peeters, who was a veteran in the coaching field. Winklaar has competed in 9 Mr Olympia competitions till date and has a best finish of 3rd in the 2018 competition. Winklaar is famous for his off season bulk and headlines the social media which has nicknamed him as the Beast. One of Winklaar’s post where he is seen flexing his triceps gained huge prominence owing to the monstrous size of his arm.
#Ronnie Coleman
The King
He is known to lifting like a powerlifter even in his cutting preparation for contest where the body is weak. Coleman is still famous in the world for his insane physique and lifting videos where he can be seen doing a 2400 lbs leg press for 8 reps and a deadlift of 800 lbs for 2 reps. Ronnie Coleman’s physique in his prime was legendary and has a loyal support.
